RE: Recovery of PC - what happens to my emails?

I am contemplating giving my PC a fresh start. If I use RECOVERY, will I lose all of the email folders in my THUNDERBIRD account or when I refresh and reinstall Thunderbird will they return? If not, then what is the master file and is it possible to add it much like an .pst or .ost file from Outlook? Thanks in advance for your support!!!

Backup the entire Thunderbird profile. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile

When you restore the backed up profile, all your data will be restored. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_restoring-a-profile-backup
