Hi, i'm from belgium. Since a week i try to connect to the e-services of the belgian government with cardreader and Eid (electronic identity). i re-installed successfully many times the software. The testing of the cardreader and Eid were ok. Still it is impossible to connect. I never had problems in the past to connect, why now ? what has changed ? It is rather urgent, because of the ultime deadline (yet passed!!). Can anyons help me ? Thanks.

This might not be an issue of the Firefox browser. Try others and report the result. Attaching a screenshot (with sensitive data censored) or mentioning the exact URL might also help us recognise and reproduce the error. At which point of the "connecting" process does it happen? What is the card reader's software called?

It probably IS a FF problem. I have the same problem. Win10 Pro FF 90.0.1 as well as 90.0.2. Someone suggested using a private window. When I do that the certificate is shown but when I confirm to use it the same error pops up:

"The smart card cannot perform the requested operation or The operation requires a different smart card"

My laptop has the same FF configuration (same add-ons) but has Win10 Home but is still on FF 89.0.2. On my laptop I have no problem whatsoever to use the cardreader + ID card. Switching to Chrome on the same desktop works without a problem.

For now, I'm not updating FF on the laptop to avoid having no backup when I need to login to government websites.
