Hello Everyone, Here is a pending problem using Thunderbird to download Gmail messages... Google is about to mandate 2FA (or similar) security as the only way to access all Google Accounts including Gmail. With the additional security in place, Thurnderbird cannot access my account and download my emails. Making "This device" "Trsusted" still does NOT allow Thunderbird access. So, how do I continue to use Thunderbird to access and download my emails? Regards, Peter

Thanks to the Support Forum, I have now solved the problem.

This is what you do..... Change the authentication method to OAuth2 for the incoming and outgoing servers in Tools/Account Settings, remove the passwords from Saved Passwords in Options/Privacy & Security, allow cookies in Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth browser window when prompted.

Thanks everyone.
