Called Wells Fargo and they told me to disable all password managers in order to log in!! WHAT???? I can get to my account using Edge WITHOUT LastPass, but something in 87 is wonky. Spouse has Firefox 86 with LastPass and he can get on with no trouble. Have started a trouble ticket with LastPass and will be contacting Wells Fargo tech support for their input. Please fix!!!!!

Hello atravel,

So my rationale for your issue is that perhaps the LassPass program does not recognize the new version of FF.

For what its worth, i have 100% no issues with FF V87 accessing financial accounts. And FF also has a built-in password vault too. However, my system is doesnt have applications other than Microsoft and FF.

My suggestion is to downgrade to FF version 86 for now, and then turn off its updating feature.

Followed your suggestion and downgraded to FF 86.0. Added LastPass extension and tried to logon to Wells Fargo again. No good. Deleted the LastPass extension and tried again and this time it worked. Since I really like LastPass and have numerous other logins/passwords, I've reinstalled the LastPass extension onto Firefox 86 and have stopped any auto updates What really bothers me is that Wells Fargo is now telling users to get rid of their password managers in order for their site to allow logins. THAT should NOT happen! The Firefox/LastPass connection worked just fine until WFB had 4 days of "maintenance" beginning on April 01. A bad April Fool's joke perhaps? I'm trying to find a way to contact a human at Wells Fargo Online Tech Support, but the only option on their website for tech support is just an automated "change your password" and we've tried that with no success. Wells Fargo knows about the problem, so we'll see. In the meantime, I'll have to use Edge (and I REALLY don't like Edge) instead of Firefox for my WFB login and try Firefox every couple of days to see if the problem has been fixed. That's the only work-around I can think of until Firefox/LastPass/Wells Fargo can put their heads together.

hello atravel,

the internet world is becoming very complex for ordinary people like us. and we are just sitting ducks for the diabolical digital geniuses.

i would suggest to accept the advice of the bank giant because they want to protect your money.

btw: FF has a built-in PW manager. Give it a try with Wells Fargo.

If it works out, then apply a Master PW to further encrypt and lock the logins & pw's  :-)

Can you use "Fill Login" and "Fill Password" in the right-click context menu with Firefox Lockwise ?

Have been using LastPass for years, and usually use the Fill Login and then click the little box to put the password in. All of my other financial stuff - creidt cards, utility bills, etc still works with Firefox/LastPass, just not the Wells Fargo Online Login after their April 1-4th "maintenance" activity.

Thanks for the additional information.

I think that maybe this bank wants to be "more" secured than the others.

OK, here's today's update on this. Just spent a couple of hours on the phone to Wells Fargo explaining my adventures in logging in. I CAN get into WFB if I delete the LastPass extension on Firefox 86 and type login/password in manually. I can also get in to the Bank side of WF through Wells Fargo Advisors and move to the banking side rather than the investment side. One of the Wells Fargo folks advised me that she'd heard of this problem before with someone using a local bank. The solution required Firefox to redo something in the browser in order for LastPass extension to work with that particular bank. LastPass and Firefox work just fine with every other website I use that requires logins and passwords with the single exception of Wells Fargo Bank Online. For now, I have a work-around, but I hope that someone at Mozilla is listening or reading these comments as my work-around should not have to be used. I haven't been able to leave feedback to Mozilla on this issue as I keep seeing that Mozilla is redoing its Feedback ability . . . . I will be advising LastPass of this latest post to keep them informed as well. Any other ideas are welcome!
