Change font in IRC/Chat

My problem is identical to this one. I want to use a monospace font for the chat part of Thunderbird, it's nicer for IRC. I don't want to change the entire application font though, just chat. How can I do this?

By the same input values as for Thunderbird. I cannot find a info option to do that at the chat enviroment Or it s not possible to do that at the configuration. Use the settings in your chat program thats running for you. Nothing of these options allow you to change the settings for your changes in the interface? Then the chat options are basic and has no option to change them.
