I have Firefox installed for Windows 10 on a PC and I use google Mail (gmail) My bookmarks menu has disappeared in Google gmail This website explains how to retrieve it, and starts with "Click menu button" (3 horizontal lines) But this menu button at the top left does not take me to the next stage which is to click "more tools" How do I find the Firefox menu button?

The Firefox menu button is positioned at the right end of the Navigation Toolbar. This is the toolbar that also has the address bar where you type (or paste) the URL (address) of a website you want to visit.
I'm not sure what you mean with My bookmarks menu has disappeared in Google gmail.
Is this about a feature offered by Gmail via its website or is this about Firefox bookmarks like the Bookmarks Toolbar or the bookmarks sidebar ?

You can add the "Bookmarks Menu" button that shows the bookmarks in a drop-down list to the Navigation Toolbar. You can drag the Bookmarks Menu button from the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar
