Hey Everybody,

Today I was trying to transfer about 8470 .eml messages to gmail via thunderbird. In thunderbird this worked (see image 1 black picture). But when I go check in gmail I only find that 5248 of those emails are actually on google's Gmail servers (see image 2 white picture). Now my questing is, how can I synchronize them with gmail withouth having to reimport them.

Thanks in advance, Jiry

If you're trying to upload to an IMAP folder, first import them to TB by drag and drop from File Explorer to a subfolder of Local Folders. Uploading is subject to gmail's bandwidth limits.

Hey thanks for your reply, I think I have exceeded those bandwith limits although I didn't get any error of it on TB, they are all on TB now but only showing 5248 on gmail itself. How can I upload them again(witouth importing again) to make sure all 8000 get on gmail?

I have also done some research and it seems that gmail puts replys togheter, see this quoted text: "When people reply to an email, Gmail groups responses together in conversations with the newest email on the bottom. A conversation breaks off into a new conversation if the subject line changes or the conversation gets to more than 100 emails." Could this be why it is showinv less than in TB itself.

Thanks already

I think the best option is to upload in 2 or 3 batches, to stay within the limit, using the add-on mentioned in the other topic.

Thanks for the response, like I said above I already imported everything, but how can I upload it to gmail again? It says 8400 in TB but in gmail it says 5248. I doesn't say uploading anymore in TB so that leads me to think that gmail just groups the replies.

It's not a gmail-specific issue - uploading large numbers to IMAP servers is not a smooth operation, no matter the email program. Use the add-on for the most reliable method.
