Majorly disappointed how privacy browsing is handled in Firefox

So after about 5 years or so of not using Firefox as my default browser, I have finally decided to move back to Firefox and try it out again.

I do not want to jump to conclusions as I may just have a lack of knowledge BUT...

I have been using Chrome and Edge Chromium for last last few years. When I go to a Private Browser Tab, visit a site, it WILL NOT remember the history and sites visited, nor will it remember the added websites to bookmarks.

So here I use Firefox the most talked Privacy browser and this is what I read on a knowledge base article.

Note: New passwords and bookmarks you create while using Private Browsing will be saved. Any files you download to your computer while using Private Browsing will be saved.

So how is this private? Not even Edge or Chrome does this. This is a major privacy concern, this needs to be fixed. It is enough for me to dismiss Firefox as an option. It should simply not save a history accessible in private mode or in standard mode of sites you have added, visited, etc... in private mode.

I would like to know if there is a work around.

Cheers M.

It is your responsibility to decide what action to take when you are in PB mode. Your browsing history isn't stored and cookies also expire, but you are allowed the bookmark pages if you want to keep them for normal mode. I'm not sure why you would want to bookmark pages and store new passwords when you are in PB mode. If you want to keep bookmark only for this session then you can use a special folder and remove this folder if you no longer want to keep them.
