Firefox doesn't know it's online anymore
Firefox has no idea it's online anymore. It just pretends it's working.
This started a short time ago. I had walked away from my system for a bit (which I do frequently throughout the day with no issues). When I returned, Firefox didn't know it was online. I tried Waterfox, it worked fine. Well, I need Firefox, so I closed out of Firefox to reboot it. It briefly worked for one page. Then it promptly forgot it was online.
I rebooted the entire system. Firefox boots but otherwise is completely unresponsive to typing URLs, choosing URLs from bookmarks or favorites or whatever. I'm now writing this through Waterfox. But I can't use Waterfox because I'd have to import every last password, every last everything. I can't work this way.
What's wrong with Firefox? Why doesn't it know how to do anything online anymore? It doesn't give an error message, it just sits and pretends it's doing something, but it does nothing.
I have hours of work and no way to do anything. I don't know how to recover Firefox from this mess.
I can't even begin to guess at the Firefox version here because it's attempting to update, which of course it can't because it doesn't remember it's online. It should be the latest one as of sometime earlier, no idea when. It updates automatically.
Thank you for your time.

Go to "about:config". Search for "network.http.http3.enabled". Set value for "network.http.http3.enabled" to "false". Restart Firefox.
Hi and thank you! Sorry for the delay. Actually, there's a known outage with Firefox. I managed to resolve it by unchecking the box in "privacy and security" that relates to Firefox data collection. Once I rebooted Firefox after unchecking the box, it worked fine and is still working.
Hi
Please can you restart Firefox which should fix this issue.
Thank you so much! I had restarted a few times but the issue is with Mozilla. Unchecking the box that allows for data collection and restarting took care of the issue for now.
Ok, thank you for letting us know.
