bookmark star has disappeared
my bookmark star has disappeared from the search bar ( along with the little page icon for the more friendly reader version) weirdly when I opened this help page it is present again, but then when I try to reopen another tab it's gone again
been looking for a remedy can't find one that recent doesn't talk about the 3 little dots in the search bar
Chosen solution
The Reader View icon depends on the structure of the page. Firefox only shows it for things that resemble articles, not for all pages.
You won't see the "add bookmark" icon for the new tab page because it has a blank address bar. Are there other pages where you don't see it?

yeah it was gone from everything for awhile; was trying to add a tag to a page I was gonna save, started to enter a tag, changed my mind, clicked cancel then when I went to save something else the bookmark star was gone.
anyways for whatever reason it's back now
so problem solved
bookmark star disappeared from address bar and I can't get it back. My version of foxfire does not have "three dots" anywhere, so that advice must be old. cane anyone help.
Hi Mary, are you using Windows? Starting in Firefox 89, we no longer have the ••• button. The "Bookmark this page" star should be visible at the right end of the address bar when the cursor is NOT in the address bar and you are viewing a page you can bookmark. (When the cursor is in the bar, often the drop-down becomes active and the page-related buttons are not shown.)
If you are missing a star that has a different function -- such as showing your bookmarks menu, which is the star that looks like it is sitting in a tray () -- use the Customize panel to drag that to where you want it (but not inside the address bar). Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars
