Firefox,

I have Kaspershy for my internet security. One of its features is a program called 'Safe Money'. With this program I can safely do banking business...except for one bank. Every time I select this bank, I am prompt to download a browser. I downloaded your browser several time to update. It never works! The closest time I cam to it working your site was suppose to send me a verification number...never did, until an hour later. Didn't need it then, it was too late. Please fix this problem, I don't want to keep on downloading your browser that doesn't work! Again I downloaded your browser, and again no verification number was sent.

Hi James, you don't need a verification number to install and run Firefox. However, if you want to sync with data from another installation of Firefox, you probably do need that verification.

A bank normally wouldn't prompt you to download a new browser unless they think the one you are using is old or incompatible. Some of these security program banking browsers are separate embedded browsers running outside of Firefox. Can you tell whether that is the case with Kaspersky's feature? For example, does the user interface look different when using the Kaspersky feature? Do pages you visit through Kaspersky show up in your history in Firefox?

By the way, your browser identified itself in an unusual way. This last part of the user agent string is not normal for Firefox:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0 Trailer/96.3.5042.43

This could explain why some sites can't understand what browser you're using. Any idea where that might be coming from?

Oh, forgot to mention there is an article to check whether that is a setting in Firefox: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.

Looks like you are trying to set up a optional Firefox Account which is not required in order to download, install and use Firefox on any device whether on desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) or mobile versions for iOS and Android. ex: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer

Cannot seem to find information on the Trailer/96.3.5042.43 that was added to end of your User Agent or UA.

edit: You posted two earlier threads that you never responded to.

In /questions/1370601 Your UA was Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0 AtContent/93.5.4634.35

In /questions/1370764 your UA was Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0 GLS/95.10.9129.30

Now what could be adding Trailer/96.3.5042.43, AtContent/93.5.4634.35, GLS/95.10.9129.30 to your Firefox User Agent.?

Could be some sort of security software or scanner? Or perhaps a Extension you have installed in Firefox?
