Help needed with diagnosing Thunderbird profile issue
Hi all
I've an issue. I've copied a profile from another machine (which works correctly there) and am trying to get this working but it continually crashes.
I'm really pulling my hair out.
Thunderbird runs with a new, clean profile, but whn using the profile manager to point to this new directory it crashes.
This is the error in the event viewer:- Faulting application name: thunderbird.exe, version: 102.0.2.0, time stamp: 0x62c892aa Faulting module name: combase.dll, version: 10.0.22000.778, time stamp: 0x61943c4d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000034393 Faulting process ID: 0x22d8 Faulting application start time: 0x01d89a893186203c Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\combase.dll Report ID: 061bf932-7d20-419a-95ef-91b6c9123e90 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
I've tried deleting the lock files and most other suggestions such as re-installing Thunderbird but to no avail.
Is there a guide to step through in troubleshooting profile issues as I know for sure it's something in there that's causing the crash?
Chris

I'm not that technical, but I do know that profiles are not downward compatible. It will help if you post the version of Thunderbird for each PC.
