Hello there Jjv. We have read your message. We try to help you.
Oké there are more passwords in Thunderbird software. The passwords can be reached by following these steps.
At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Options ) Security ) Passwords ) Saved Passwords )Show Passwords.
Here you can check with what passwords you are .
There are configurations for Smtp settings to. Authentication method: Normal Password Connection Security: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS. Go to the configurations of outgoing Mail ,Smtp. Check if the setting are correct with the picture I have send you.

There is no such thing like having a password for entering Thunderbird.

Hello there again.
There is a future and only big protection for Thunderbird Software that is the master password for the software.
How to get to that configuration and setup this password is Select Tools > Options in Thunderbird. Select Privacy & Security if it is not selected already. Scroll down to the passwords section on the page that opens. Check "use a master password". You may be asked to enter the operating system password/pin to proceed. Type the password and repeat it to set it.
This seems to work when you are using the Software itself.
Your question was that no installation could be setup because there was requirement for a password to complete a installation of Thunderbird software.
Seem to be something with your pc. Or internet provider that’s asking you that? Could be a or your Ssd password setup.

I try to install the 102 Beta.
When starting the exe, it asks for my name, email address and a password.
The question is: which password?
Hello there again.
It seem that your os software is asking you a password to accept certain steps.
Can I ask you what os are you having at the moment?
And what was the latest thunderbird software that you have on your pc or laptop?
Sounds like it has to do with your pc itself. And the configuration that you have filled in to operate system itself. It could be also a small thing with both software ‘s.
Are you shore asking permission to install by name e-mail and password? Can you send me a picture if it s possible?

Hello there again.
If Thunderbird is not installed it has nothing to do with that software. What operating system do you own ?
It could that your administrators configuration is set.
Try to press Win-r. In the dialog box,try to type compmgmt.msc, and enter. Select users folder at expand local users and groups. Right - click the administrators account and select password. Check if there is a on screen instruction field to complete.
It is text for windows pc.
Try to use it on your system if you having a window machine.
It could be that you are having a other type of computer machine.
If you can work with the administration and having a password for it ?
Cannot install software on a window 10 pc .
Press Windows key + X. Select Control Panel. Click on User accounts. Under make changes to your account, click on Manage another account. Select the account which you want to change. Now click on change the account type. Select Administrator and click on Change the Account Type to change the account type to administrator account. Now check if you are able to install application/software.

You just asked the same question in a different thread yesterday. And I told you the password being requested was for your email account. So why are you posting the same question again? The Thunderbird email wizard requests name, account and password so it can configure your email account.
As you have noticed, I am not a native English speaker. I rephrased the question because I thought it was not understood. Now you say I have to input the IMAP password. When I do so, I get an icon saying "cchecking password" but it does not connect.
.
What error message are you getting?

My first suggestion is to include your email id where it asks for user name. If that doesn't work, then my next suggestion is to use the manual setup option. From what I see on internet, the incoming server is port 993 and SSL and the outgoing is port 587 and STARTTLS
