Hi, I've been trying to link my gmail account to Thunderbird mail without any success.

I got this error: Unable to login in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

My account doesn't have 2FA enabled.

What could be the issue?

I forgot to mention that I'm using Thunderbird mail 91.11.0 and it does detect gmail and I chose imap and all the details are correct.

I need your help, should I install an older version? how?

Given gmail required oauth as a minimum and that requires cookies and no "other software" using the localhost

I would guess the place to start is with cookies as some third party products that claim to be "protecting you" turn those off.

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-conversion-google-mail-accounts-oauth20 for some background.
