A laptop running Windows 10 was using an older version of Thunderbird (2019) and would not update even though the auto update box was checked. Downloaded and installed 102.3.0, which to my surprise did not require that the older version be uninstalled, and all went smoothly: all folders are in place with no data lost. However, the address books are empty. Found a Contacts folder located here C:\Users\Username\Contacts and this folder contains all the missing contacts. What steps do I need to take to get 102.3.0 to access this file / data?

Thanks in advance for advice, Bob

Chosen solution

C:\Users\Username\Contacts is the location for Windows addresses, not Thunderbird.

Your direct update from 2019 version (probably Thunderbird 68) to Thunderbird 102 jumped over the address book migrate process.

1. Backup your Thunderbird profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_restoring-a-profile-backup 2. Do Tools > Import > pick "Import from file" > pick "Import Address Books" > point to your profile directory, and pick the address book file(s)

Please post your results.
