The private browser has a different color scheme. It is too dark. How do I correct it without changing the other browser?

Go to Add-ons and Themes (in the menus under Tools or More tools or ctl+shft+a) and select Themes in the left panel. Disable the one which is presently enabled and enable the theme you want to use.

You can set browser.theme.dark-private-windows = false on the about:config page.
