Hello! I use TBird to access two email accounts. With one of these accounts, I now have TWO new problems for a week now, thus: "Unable to open the folder Inbox on Shaw - agree@shaw.ca because it is in use by some other operation. Please wait for that operation to finish and then select the folder again." -and- "The account Shaw - agree@shaw.ca is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." I'm stuck. Tried closing TBird and rebooting my windows 11 PC many times. The other email account works fine. Please help, anyone? THANKS!

open the activity manager on the tools menu. What does Thunderbird "think" it is doing with the shaw account?

Hey Matt, Thanks for your quick reply, and practical suggestion. But very weirdly, when I opened TBird yesterday morning, it promptly checked my email from BOTH accounts, and downloaded all my email in the normal way. The problem appears to have completely solved itself and all is working as it should. But now I'm left wondering: why did the problem start in the first place, persist for about a week, and then disappear???

Again, thanks for for jumping in, but now there is no problem to solve. Take care! Much appreciated. - Rick

Perhaps on topic, perhaps not.

I just had windows defender identify my inbox as having some exploit that it quarantined. Thunderbird proceeded to hang and not work at all. Just something to consider.
