I have Thunderbird set to minimize to the task bar, but I often hit the X to close, as that's what I did with Eudora (which I sorely miss, Thunderbird is definitely subpar in comparison). After 6 months, I still find myself doing it. Is there a way to alert when I hit close? I'm not sure I want to download the add-on to minimize on close since it has unrestricted access.

You mention you prefer Eudora, which is still available. My wife still uses it, so that's a possible solution for you.

Unfortunately, that's not an option. I'm now using Protonmail and their bridge doesn't work with Eudora.
