I keep getting en error message that says Secure Connection Failed while searching with FireFox. It refers Vanilla-search.com. I don’t know what Vaanilla Search is. How do I fix this? Here is what it says:

An error occurred during a connection to vanilla-search.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

It sounds like you may have something malicious installed that's trying to redirect your searches to an unscrupulous website. See What is search hijacking? for more info on how this could have happened.

See What to do when searches take you to the wrong search website for info on how to fix it.

I also highly recommend you run a virus scan on your computer and review the information at Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
