I have a personal family domain, with email service - my provider supplies me with a number of pop3/smtp addresses.

I have a Thunderbird a/c setup on a desktop running Linux Mint, thgunderbird version 115.5.0 (64-bit) SUPERNOVA using one of the pop3/smtp addresses - husbandATmydomain.me.uk and I receive emails from another of the domain's pop3/smtp addresses, sent by my wife from a Windows 10 laptop using Thunderbird, under the address wifeATmydomain.me.uk

Her Thunderbird a/c is correctly set up in her Thunderbird, to use the smtp server for her email address, wifeATmydomain.me.uk. There are no other addresses or identities set up on her thunderbird account. My thunderbird a/c is correctly set up to use the smtp server for husbandATmydomain.me.uk and has several other pop3/smtp addresses able to send addresses using their own smtp servers.

In MY Thunderbird address book my wife's address is given as wifeATmydomain.me.uk, with the display name "wifefirstname surname".

When I receive an email sent by my wife, to me, it appears in my Inbox with the Correspondents column showing MY name not hers. This means I am constantly missing emails from her. because her name is not visible in Correspondents column, but mine is there instead.

The Reply To: and From: addresses are correctly given as wifeATmydomain.me.uk when I examine the receive email details. It is only displayed with MY NAME, in the Correspondents column in the Message list header pane, using Classic View. Everything about her emails displays correctly in Message View, using Full Headers display.

The only thing I could find in research was to make sure her a/c was using the correct smtp server. It is.

How can I fix this please?

My experience with the correspondents column is that is shows recipients, not the sender. The FROM column is needed if you need to see sender. For me, correspondents column has limited use, so I leave it unticked.

thank you for your reply.

On my message list, for my Inbox, the Correspondents column shows the sender, for all emails received, except for those from my wife where it displays MY name.

However, there is a right click option for "From" in the Title bar, which works correctly for all senders, so I've chosen that and unticked Correspondents. There is no "Sender" option.

So thank you for solving my problem, although it would still be useful to know why my Correspondents column behaves so differently to yours, and why my wife's address behaves differently to all others even though it is set up to use the correct smtp server when she sends emails.!
