Thunderbird acting strange when I click on link to Apple Support Communities discussion

more options

I am posting two images of an email notification from Apple Support Communities. The first is how the email appears in my inbox, with link, before I click on the link. The second is what I see once I click on the link. The link never opens in my browser.

If I change the viewing of the message body from 'Original HTML' to 'Simple HTML' or 'Plain Text' and click on the link, it opens as it should, in my browser.

I have changed nothing, and this is not happening with links in any other emails, only ones from Apple pertaining to this discussion.
