Dear community, I get the error "There is no default mail client or the current mail client...". <send to> and adding files to a new message by programs like pdf printer stopped working. It worked before. Suddenly stopped.

what I did with no results: In 'Default apps' - Thunderbird ofc. 'Email' needs to be set as 'Thunderbird' reinstallation of TB 64b. installation TB 32b. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail, -> Mozilla Thunderbird HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail -> Mozilla Thunderbird HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mailto -> Mozilla Thunderbird HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command -> "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -osint -compose "%1"

I will add that if I set the default Outlook, it works (Now I have deleted it).

What should I do to make Thunderbird work?

Thanks. And what happen when you click the "check now"? All are the checkboxes selected?

Also see this discussion - it seems after every restart this setting might be overwritten, Not sure if this is applicable anymore https://superuser.com/questions/1613732/hkey-local-machine-software-clients-mail-constantly-overwritten

Thank you for your quick replies.

'And what happen when you click the "check now"? All are the checkboxes selected?'

Yes. Anyway, if I choose "restore defaults", nothing changes either.

" it seems after every restart this setting might be overwritten"

The reset doesn't change anything in the registry in my case. Everything is as I wrote above, despite resets. Mozilla Thunderbird is still there.

I deleted Outlook from my computer, hoping that it might improve something.

If you figure this out, please share the solution here. That's an interesting problem. I wish I had a windows now to be able to reproduce :)
