How to go back to previus version of Thunderbird?
I was stupid and loaded down what I thought was an updated version, 115, of Thunderbird. Many of the folders with saved emails has dissapered. How can I get them back? Why is the number of saved emails shown on some of the folders. How to make the shown number to dissapear? How can I take away old emails in the infolder. In the previus version was that possible. I had to make all accounts once again. Shall it be that in an update? How can I get back the previous versin? I am not pleased with this new 115-version.

You asked several questions, and I will attempt a few. - to revert to prior version, do this:
Exit Thunderbird if running. click windows key and 'r' key Enter: thunderbird.exe -P --allow-downgrade click on 'OK' -
Depending on your prior version, that should work, but if you updated to 15.12.1 (or 15.12.2), you will end up with a version that is similar. I encourage staying with the current version as there are sometimes dragons lurking in the shadows when attempting to go back. And, you will eventually need to move up anyway. Also, upgrades and downgrades to not change accounts. If that happened, there was something else involved.
On the question on showing message count, click the three dots to the right of the 'new message' button and untick that feature.
