An unpinned pinned tab keeps returning

more options

Hello, I used to have Microsoft Teams as a pinned tab (in fact I think it was my first pinned tab), which I no longer need as I now have the Teams app on my computer. I have tried unpinning the Teams tab but whenever I close & reopen Firefox, it reappears - it doesn't show up initially, but will pop up 5-10 seconds after Firefox starts (my other pinned tabs show up straight away) - so I have to close it each time. Not a big issue I know but kinda annoying - any suggestions/solutions?

Are you using Sync to sync prefs as that could be a possible cause?

The browser.newtabpage.pinned pref is part of prefs than are synced like set via its Sync control pref.

  • services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.newtabpage.pinned

No, I don't have my browser settings synced... The string you mention has "Boolean" selected, is that correct?

Does browser.newtabpage.pinned include this website as part of the synced tabs if you check this in about:config.

All services.sync.prefs.sync.* prefs are Boolean true/false prefs and control whether to sync to include/exclude its pref in syncing prefs.

browser.newtabpage.pinned only shows one website which isn't even in my pinned tabs? just confirming that I do not have sync turned on

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click "Refresh Firefox" in the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're telling me to do/check?
