When I do a search in Firefox, like "Find auto parts near me" it finds auto parts in Kissimmee, FL were I was last winter rather than where I've been since March. My location and default location in Windows correctly shows my address in Hot Springs,NC, as does the Chrome browser, so this is unique to Firefox. I have cleared cache, checked location settings in Firefox, etc. Some comment Firefox may get the address from my IP, but my IP says its in Marshall, NC where my ISP is. I prefer to use Firefox over Chrome, but its useless to search "near me" in Firefox since it doesn't know where I am.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

You can check the connection settings and check for possible issues with a Proxy or VPN service.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a Proxy to connect to internet, select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
