Whenever I go to sign into my Gmail account, Yahoo email account, any forum, any browser based game, any site that has a username/password Firefox browser stops responding, consumes all unused CPU and RAM. This problem started 5-14-10 and had not occurred prior to that. I have no crash IDs for this because the crash logging tool has not openned. I have had to go through task manager to close Firefox or reboot my computer every single time

does it happen in safe mode?

I'd try this:

1) Disable all your add-ons 2) Delete your history and cookies 3) do you use the password manager? If so, delete your passwords 4) If nothing works, backup your profile (optional), and create a new one http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20profiles

Tried all that already

That's odd, especially because it only happens when you try to sign into your accounts.

I wonder if upgrading to FF 3.6.4 makes some difference (clean install) http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

I dont know what happened, 8 reinstalls and 15 reboots later, everything is working fine. If it reverts, I will be back to seek more help, meanwhile I am going to scratch my head and assume I did something different the last time, when I know I didn't.
