Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player for Firefox

more options

Both of the above plug ins are offered by Firefox. However, I have made several attempts to download and install these plug ins, with no success.

Each time, the browser goes to the Adobe Website. Specifically it states to go to the instructions if installing these plug ins for Firefox. I go to the instructions and they state that these plug ins do not work with Firefox.

My questions, if Firefox is offering these plug ins, why can't I install them.

Please check to make sure you're using the current version of Firefox by going to the Help menu and selecting "About Mozilla Firefox". The current version is 3.6.3 (as of this writing), if you're using an older version, please download the current version from the Firefox website. If you are using 3.6.3, try visiting the Adobe download pages for Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash directly, note that you will probably have to agree to install the Adobe Download Manager (Adobe DLM) and agree to several security prompts in the bar at the top of the page before the plugins can install. Here are direct links to the download pages:

Adobe Reader download page, US English Adobe Flash Player download page, US English

(I would recommend UNchecking the box so as not to download the McAfee Security Scan, but this is up to you)
