browser history
Unlike a lot of people, I depend on my browsing history as important bread crumbs for my perambulations over the course of months. But now, after updating to Firefox 3.6.8, my history is erased after 30 days! Arghh! This is a real problem for me. In Preferences>History, I have it set for "Use custom settings for history" and then "Remember browsing history for at least 365 days." Then I also have checked: Remember download history; Remember search and form history; Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies-Keep until I close Firefox. The "Clear history when Firefox closes" box is NOT checked.
Alas, ONLY 30 days of history are being kept. (Under Tools, I have NOT started a Private Browsing session; I never change that setting.)
In my Profile under Modified Preferences I have these settings: browser.history_expire_days 30 browser.history_expire_days.mirror 30 Browser.history_expire_days_min 365
However, I cannot figure out how to change any of these on that pane.
I tried going back to Preferences > History and changing from "Use custom settings for history" to "Remember History." Then I closed Firefox and relaunched it. But that did not effect any changes in my profile.
What's up with this? The online chat folks had no clue whatsoever.
Any help greatly appreciated.

"Remember browsing history for at least" means what is kept in memory.
There are however overriding prefs that determine what is actually kept on dis.
You can change those prefs on the about:config page.
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90) (remember at least)
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
