each time i start firefox before it finishes loading the home pg. it tells me "we noticed you ..."

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I followed your steps, closed the FF window then restarted FF. Same problem. One thing I noticed, different than when I start internet explorer,,, my home page url has the following: " //att.my.yahoo.com/?_bc=1" hopefully this my be helpful
