Is there a way for me to uninstall firefox 3.6.12 without uninstalling firefox altogether? Or, if I uninstall it, will all of my information be lost, ie. bookmarks, add-ons, etc?

I recently downloaded the update for firefox, 3.6.12, and I am unhappy with it, namely because it is not compatible with the Google toolbar so I wanted to uninstall it and go back to an earlier version of firefox. This is why I want to know if there is a way to re-install the version I previously had or if I did uninstall it altogether, would all the information I currently have on firefox be lost?

Hi Laressa

You can uninstall FF while retaining your bookmarks.

After you close any open FF browsers (and assuming your OS is W7) go to control panel>programs>uninstall a program. Then find the Mozella Firefox entry, and click on "uninstall". The Mozella uninstall wizard will prompt you whether you want to "Remove my Firefox personal data" (favorites, passwords, addons, plugins, etc).

This link [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/uninstalling+Firefox] covers Windows through Vista, but should work fine for W7.

Firefox 3.6.12 should work with the Google Toolbar.
You can try to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the Google Toolbar.

Note however that the GT has been reported to cause a lot of issues in different Firefox versions.

To which Firefox version do you want to downgrade?
Downgrading makes you vulnerable to security issues that have been solved in later versions and is not recommended.
