I am having problems watching Microsoft help videos within Firefox, like the one in this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wi.../windows-media-player-12 FF suggested that I download the MS Media player Firefox Plugin WMPfirefoxplugin.exe 1.0.0.8 . I installed it, but as a result, when I click on the video, it opens up full screen in the same tab. It looks impressive, BUT ...is there a way that I can watch those vids in the small frame inside the original web page, like it happens with youtube videos? Thanks!! (-:

Hi Cor-el, I tested the link you sent, and the test was successful. However, back to the link I posted in my first message, the video plays inside the web page when I use Internet Explorer, but it doesn't when I use Firefox. Needless to say that i very much prefer Mozilla, so I am still trying to figure out how to watch those videos inside the original web page. I hope here is a solution. Thx.

I also did some web searching on this and found this article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Quicktime#Quicktime_browser_settings Unfortunately, when I go to change the MIME settings in quick time preference, I noticed that the function is the same as for the FILES TYPES in the browser tab of Quicktime. They both open a Window 7 window [Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Program], but I am afraid that is the wrong place to change MIME settings. Am I right? If so, where an I change the MIME settings like I was able to do in XP?

As I wrote above, you can't play that video embedded in Firefox.
If you hover the player then you will notice a .wmv video link in the Status Bar.
That will cause Firefox to open the video in a new tab or window. MS has decided to hide the embedded player for other browsers.
If you look at the View > Page Source then you can see the there is conditional code for IE to embed the player.

There is this code that hide that player for Firefox:

div.wmpObjectContainerInit div.wmpObjectDiv{margin-bottom:7px;display:none;}
