When I open a new tab, is there a way to keep it from loading and playing to content on the page?

For example, I go on CollegeHumor.com a lot. They have videos that I like to watch. Sometimes, I'll open more than 1 video at a time. I like to open them all in different tabs, so I can easily go from video to video. In FireFox, when I open a tab, it automatically starts playing the video. Is there a way to keep the video from loading until I open the tab?
