Can I disable the block on automatic reloading? It's driving me nuts.

Many of my favourite, and trusted, sites now appear with a line at the top saying "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading." I click "Allow" but then the same message just keeps re-appearing. Can I disable this feature? Is there any reason not to?
