Hello, Firefox crashes every time I try to fill in the adress box of a mail on Hotmail. It then sends an error message saying : Silverlight safari internet plug in quit unexpectedly Problem details and system configuration.... ......

I downloaded safari again and replaced the old version but the problem persists. Please do not tell me to check with the Hotmail support team as they told me it was a browser related problem which I had to check with you ! Thank you in advance, Christina

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thank you for this post but... I have a mac and if I am on Firefox and go to "Tools", there is no > "Options" to click on (so no way to reach : Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now") I can just choose between : Web search Downloads Add ons Erros console Page info Start privaçy browsing Clear recent history

On Safari, which has the same problem except it doesn't shut down but just send the error message, no "Tools" at all !

Plus, I have to say that my knowledge of computers is really poor and this to me is chinese : Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

No idea how to start safari in safe mode...

What to do ? Thank you so much for your help.

Sorry, on a Mac you need to look in Firefox > Preferences instead of Tools > Options
