I have clicked on all of the (very few) buttons that I can find, but there is no longer a tools menu. I had a privacy add-on on the old Firefox menu bar that has disappeared as well. Everything seems to have disappeared...

Dont worry, there is tools menu. first open your new firefox 4 browser then take your mouse cursor to upside and near to orange firefox part but not on. then press right mouse button and choose menu toolbar. After this you can see tools menu at bar.

Wow, thanks Popcorn. How in the world did you ever figure that out? I had right-clicked on the bar next to the orange Firefox word, but only got a little menu of 5 items, 3 of which are greyed out. By moving the cursor over the Back arrow, etc and right-clicking I got the menu you wrote of. Why Firefox wants to make it so difficult I can not imagine. I am grateful for those like you who will battle to the end to find out the hidden secrets!

I just wish to go back to the old set up with the bookmarks toolbar I have wasted an hour or more trying to get this, I really wish to uninstall firefox and go back and install it using one of the old files I do mot want this and I don't want this hassle. I have enjoyed Firefox for years now and it would be a terrible shame to lose it becauise you have made it so that I cannot enjoy using it. Please just tell me the easiest way of going back to the old format. Thankyou!!

You can right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar menu or use (F10) View > Toolbars.

  • Click the Menu Bar entry to make the Menu Bar visible.
  • Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.
