Recently, the Mozilla Firefox icon on my desktop start page now has a small white box with a black arrow within, attached at the 7 o'clock position and a + sign within a blue box at the 6 o'clock position. What is this?

After log in, the Mozilla log on icon now shows a small, to the right curved ( similar to email forwarding notation) black arrow within a white box attached to the icon at the 8 o'clock position and a small black + sign within a blue or dark shaded box attached to the icon at the 6 o'clock position.

Everything seems to work fine and I have scanned for spy ware & virus attacks and all was clear.

What is this?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

This issue can be caused by an extension (maybe FoxTab) that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
