How do I stop pop up windows that are not pop ups but hyper text?

Seems that when the mouse is clicked a window with an ad pops up. It's not a normal pop up. I have those blocked in my options. When I right click these ads the property shows them to be hyper text. Help me stop these. Thanks, Jerry Crawford
