I used to be able to go to view in order to zoom in and out on a webpage. Now I am unable to do that. What can I do to zoom in/out now? Please help.

Firefox 4 has zoom in and zoom out buttons in the toolbar palette.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

You can use one of these extensions to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:
