I was able to run searches on Google from the Google search bar at the top of the browser window. Now, the search never loads, and I have to go to the Google homepage to get a search done.

I'm using Firefox4.0.1 on Windows XP.

Thanks for the tips... I tried it all out and still the search bar is hanging, though.
