recently firefox presents a screen on startup regarding plugin updates. I tried to disable the feaute in the advanced options page but it will not stop

Firefox will not allow me to turnoff the automatic update feature for plug-ins. On startup it presents a screen and searches all my plug-ins looking for updates.

Thank You so much for the info. I went to the add/delete program manger in Windows XP and removed the Viewpoint Media Player. As so as I did this the add-on's screen stopped appearing every time I opened Firefox.
