Save Image As ... stopped working after FF 4.0.1 install
Firefox has been my default browser for many years, so I was shocked when a basic feature like this stopped working. The problem is simple to describe: For an image on any web page, when I right-click and choose "Save Image As...", no dialog box pops up asking me where to save the file and what to name it; an hourglass briefly appears; and when I move the mouse, it's like I never right-clicked at all. Nothing appears in the Download history.
This feature is dead in the water, period. I can't make it work at all. I've restarted Firefox, rebooted, and nothing helps.
I don't mean to overreact, but this is a function I use very frequently, and I'm just speechless that such a basic function stopped working as soon as I upgraded from FF 3.6.x. Please help!
Thanks.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thank you so much, cor-el!
I can now save images again (!!!), but what surprised me was that all I had to do was restart Firefox in Safe Mode, and then restart again in normal mode, to fix the problem. (??) I didn't make any overt changes while in Safe Mode. Oh well, I guess I should just be thankful it worked, and leave it at that.
I had seen the Safe Mode suggestion posted in response to similar questions, but the problems all seemed slightly different than the one I was experiencing. If my question was redundant, I apologize.
Thanks again! Looks like I can keep using Firefox after all... ;-))
