When i click on the arrow pointing down at the 'awesome bar' nothing happens. Also when I start writing no suggestions or what-so-ever pop up. I have to manually write the site address. I can not in any way open the suggestions in 'Firefox 4.0.1'

The settings are that Firefox should gather information from "History and Bookmarks".

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":

  • Firefox (Tools) > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks

I have the same problem! It started after I have connected to the other network in my friend's house. No suggestions in the Location bar. It's really annoying, please help someone. I tried changing the number of suggestions, setting it to 0, setting Location Bar to Nothing then again to History and Bookmarks and no results...

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
