Copied text on a webpage is lost from the clipboard when Firefox is closed
If I copy text on a webpage with Ctrl+C it remains in the clipboard as long as Firefox is running. But when I close Firefox, it is lost and I cannot insert the text in, e.g., Word. This is very annoying.
I have asked about this before and was told that it is a safety feature! This is nonsense to me! What does it have to do with safety???
Some applications, when closing, ask something like "You placed data in the clipboard. Do you want to keep it when the program is closed?"
This makes a lot more sense! Really a lot more! Can I make Firefox do the same?
If not, introducing this choice feature is suggested as a real improvement of Firefox with the next update!!
Maybe even a "double choice" - in Preferences one could choose if Firefox shall empty the clipboard when closed, or ask this question!!!

I'm on WinXP too, and I have never noticed that happen. But I tend to minimize a Firefox window after "Copy" and then get focus on the window I want to "Paste" into, without closing a Firefox window or the program. See this Bug comment.
