Hi! When I open a new tab--that is, after Firefox has been opened and my home page is displayed--this new, additional tab opens up as a blank--no image--just a white page.

I'd like new tabs to open up in standard Google search engine. How would I do that, please? Thank you.

Chosen solution

A blank page is the default action when you open a new tab. You can change that with this extension.

Thank you--. I do appreciate it. However, now I must learn how to have mutltiple home pages--easy enough, I suppose. Just don't have time right now.

Thanks again.

This does not work for Firefox 5. An other suggestions?

It's the little stuff that makes people change the browser, so please post a solution to that or I just find another browser. It worked perfectly BEFORE the update.

Wife's system is having this problem. The problem isn't a new tab.

Start up browser and her home page loads msn.com.

Go up and put google.com in as the url and the google page loads properly (only one tab open). Do search for anything and you get a blank white page as a result. Also does it with other search engines.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
