If you have "Adblock Plus" do you really need "NoScript"

It's a wonder anything is running on your computer, suggest you get rid of "AVG Safe Search" and "AVG Security Scanner" extensions.

You should also remove all of the Java Consoles except for the latest through Windows Control Panel Add/Remove programs

Thank you for your prompt reply and info, however it did not help. The add on manager shows them enabled but the add on tool bar does not show either one of them. i really wish I could go back to version 3

Are both the most current versions? Have to opened the Add-ons window, click Extensions > click the "gear" icon at the top, click "Check for Updates" to manually check for updates.

In AdBlock Plus you must select to have ABP shown in the Add-on Bar.

  • to open ABP Preferences (Options), do one of the following
    • click or right-click the ABP icon in the Toolbar (top), choose "Preferences"
    • in Add-ons > Extensions, click "Options" next to ABP
  • on the ABP Preferences window
    • click Options at the top
    • place check mark beside "Show in Status Bar" (will show in the Add-on Bar; they need to change the wording there)

If I am not mistaken, the latest versions of NoScript has only one icon. It will show an icon in the Add-on Bar (automatically) if you do not have a NS icon on the Toolbar. If you have a NS icon on the Toolbar, you can use Customize to drag it to the Add-on Bar while the Customize window is open. To open Customize in Firefox 4, do one of the following:

  • click Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout
  • if using the Menu Bar: click View > Toolbars > Customize
  • HOLD down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letters VTC

Fixed it. All I had to do was run a administrator one time and they started to work
