Maybe try MPlayer instead.

You can usually find that in the Packman repository.

I am not looking for a workaround (e.g., using MPlayer) but for a solution - as a workaround a can use opera instead of firefox. This seems to indicate that this is a firefox problem, not a gxine issue. Nevertheless, I informed the gxine maintainer.

Best,

Good morning,

System Linux kernel 3.03. Mozilla 5.01 and higher.

In the past we used Mediaplayerconnectivity to receive audio stream in Mozilla. However in the version 5.01 it is no longer supported. And there seems no way to solve this problem.

With Opera browser however in combination with Xine and gxine plugin it works.

After installing gxine plugin. It shows up in Mozilla plugin list, but does not work. The gxine plugin.so is in the directory usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/gxine plugin.so.

But in Mozilla 5.01 is does not work and plugin is not knows by Mozilla plugin check.

People here rely on using this for using the Church broadcasts in 16 Khz 24 bits mpeg audiolayer 3C stream.

It is not clear why this plugin works in Opera and not in Mozilla.

I think it is important to solve this problem.

Regards,

Bram Verkerk

You need a 32 bit plugin if you are using a 32 bit Firefox version.
