I don't have any problem with version 3.6.18 .. and it bareley suffices for my 256M Ram memory .. what will happen if I don't change to ver 4 .. and now 5 ..

What memory problems could I get with a change to new versions?

Thanks (And forget me to ask this hear .. but I don't find any other place to make my question)

Firefox 3.6 RAM requires 64MB (recommended RAM is 128MB or greater).
Firefox 4 and 5 recommended RAM is 512MB.
See:

Your RAM, 256MB, is probably bare minimum for your system. You need to check what kind and how much your system will accommodate. Your whole system is likely to run better with more RAM. I recently purchased 2G top-of-the-line RAM for an old, old computer for $59.99 on-line in a special sale.

Look up your computer make and model at the following for type of RAM and how much your system will accommodate, then look on the internet for pricing: http://www.crucial.com/

You need to update the following. The Plugin version(s) shown below was/were submitted with your question and is/are out of date. You should update to avoid known security issues with the version(s) you have installed. Click on "More system info..." to the right of your question to see what was included with your question.

  • Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape
  • Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_18 for Mozilla browsers
  1. Check your plugin versions on either of the following links':
  2. Update Adobe Reader (PDF plugin):
    • From within your existing Adobe Reader (if you have it already installed):
      • Open the Adobe Reader program from your Programs list
      • Click Help > Check for Updates
      • Follow the prompts for updating
      • If this method works for you, skip the "Download complete installer" section below and proceed to "After the installation" below
    • Download complete installer (if you do NOT have Adobe Reader installed):
    • After the installation, start Firefox and check your version again.
  3. Update the Java plugin to the latest version.
