I have been using the french dictionary a lot for commenting and publishing on many sites. But, lately, I found out that none of the french dictionaries are compatible with the new version of my firefox! I thought updates were provided to make the service better and not to do disallow such important functions. Can you please guide me to install the french dictionary if there is any way to do so.

Hope to hear from you soon. Have a nice day.

Well the Aurora (not tied to any one version) channel builds are not release builds but more like Alpha test builds meant for devs and testers and not regular Firefox users in mind.

Most extension updates are focused on 5.0 and maybe Beta channel where 6.0 is on at moment.

You can either force the install of Dictionary extension by way of Add-on Compatibility Reporter extension or you can add the extensions.checkCompatibility.7.0a Preference as a boolean in about:config
