I want to be able to cut/paste/copy text in my own website. I followed the suggested staps (change in user.js). For a few minutes everything worked. However, by accident I closed firefox. And then, opening my site again, the possibility to cut/paste/copy was gone. What ever I tried (changing user.js once more according to tips on Firefox website), cut/paste/copy does not work any more.

Chosen solution

You could try using keyboard shortcuts (these should already be programmed into the system:

  • Cut: Ctrl+X
  • Copy: Ctrl+C
  • Paste: Ctrl+V

Many thanks! These are indeed working!

However, other functions (like stil changes) do still not work - and I need them ;-( These functions did work in the short period that 'everything' seem to work, after my first user.js change. What has happened?

Only "Cut: Ctrl+X/Copy: Ctrl+C/Paste: Ctrl+V " is working. Unfortunately the rest of the suggestions didn't do the trick - even the not recommended change in 'about:config' (sign....to true).

What I cannot understand is that ALL the rich text formating worked ...but only for just a few minutes! Then nothing worked any more. Does somebody perhaps have an explanation for what - it seems - went finally wrong?
