Whenever I go to a site that requires JavaScript I get a notice telling me to enable JS even though I do have it enabled(checked) in FF preferences/content. I'm unable to use site functions that require JavaScript.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I installed the latest FF update(6.02) and the problem seems to be resolved.

Looks like I was wrong; JavaScript does NOT work in FF6.0.2, at least it's not working at my end. Image shows the no-JavaScript notice at a bank's log in page when using FF 6.0.2.

Well now, I just discovered the reason for JS not working; I neglected to whitelist the bank's URL in Ghostery. I now did so and JS works fine.

I have discovered , definitively, that JavaScript is NOT working in FF 6.0.2. On pages that require JS, the notice that I need to enable JS is always shown. I checked, in Safe Mode, if any extensions are causing the problem. None seem to be. Hopefully, FF's next version will clear up the problem.....one can hope.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

When I attempt to use the terminal command "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -ProfileManager", Firefox crashes even though it's been closed; terminal response is:
